On January 14th and 15th, 2023, Yao Jiliang, a well-known Shanghai-style calligrapher and painter in Vancouver, was invited by Price Smart Supermarkets, Canada to hold the event in Richmond and Burnaby with venue support and sponsorship for two consecutive days" : [Little Artists Playing Calligraphy] for the Children experience of the artist welfare activities in "Warm Blessings and Welcoming the Year of the Rabbit".
The event was hosted by the Canadian Shanghai School of Painting and Calligraphy and undertaken by the Vancouver Volunteer Alliance. It received positive responses from all walks of life, especially children and teenagers in the Greater Vancouver area who participated in the activity of writing "Fu" together. The activity of celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year and sending blessings is also one of the local popular activities to welcome the coming of Chinese Spring Festival.
On the first Day, Mr. Yao led his students to participate in and experience the public welfare activities of young artists. The picture below shows three students of Teacher Yao, from right: Chen Yanzhen, Zhang Kaiwen, Zhou Wenjing.
